NEW ALBUM:
"A favorite Americana discovery." - Huffington Post

Song-driven. That's the theme of roots rock trio Sarah Siskind & SUNLINER, the brainchild of husband and wife Sarah Siskind and Travis Book. Even though both are busy in their own music careers, the couple started playing music together during “off” time as a way to travel together and share what they both love. It began by Travis asking to dig into Sarah’s vast catalog of songs she had written but never performed.  What evolved was a selection of material and delivery by the couple that got such rave reviews from audiences and critics, they couldn't turn back.

Originally a duo, the couple took it a step further by adding a drummer.  With the solid rhythm section of Book on bass and Brian Caputo on drums backing Siskind’s lush guitar work and expressive soaring vocals, there's no need for shiny solos or trickery.  Book also occasionally takes the lead vocal with Siskind on harmony.  The melodies and stories take center stage, often harkening back to the era of Southern Rock and Delta Blues.

A celebrated songwriter, Siskind has been covered by Alison Krauss, Wynonna, Bon Iver, Randy Travis, Jeff Austin and dozens more.  She’s had close to twenty songs on the hit TV show “Nashville” as well as other shows such as “Pretty Little Liars”, MTV’s “Teen Mom”, and HBO’s “The Wire”.  As an artist, No Depression had this to say:  “She is a once-in-a-lifetime kind of artist in her delivery, honesty and songwriting.”  Siskind’s diversity across genres has put her on the road with Bonnie Raitt, The Swell Season, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Bon Iver, Paul Brady and in the studio with Bill Frisell and Jerry Douglas. At SXSW 2013, Time Magazine called her “one of the 5 best voices.”

Originally from Colorado, Travis Book is a lead singer and upright bass player for the Grammy Nominated acoustic phenomena The Infamous Stringdusters. Thick bass grooves, warm vocals and his trademark smile define his style, but he’s not just a bass player. In January 2014 he demonstrated his musical versatility  when he released a solo guitar-vocal tribute to his mentor Benny Galloway called “Alice.”

Both are recognized as among the best in their field but they’ve never done anything quite like this.  Sarah Siskind & SUNLINER, song-driven roots rock, fueled by love.  After extensive time in Nashville, TN, the couple now lives in Sarah’s home state of North Carolina.
